When it comes to selling peoples largest asset experience is everything and with 39 years of being in business and 25 years as an agent, I have that experience, skill and knowledge that is only achieved through time and dedication to your craft.
My passage into Real Estate started in late 1988 when, as a builder, I read an article in The Press about studying valuation at Lincoln University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce and Management degree, I started my Real Estate career with Berry Real Estate in 1992.
Within a short time, I was the top salesperson, negotiating over one hundred contracts in my second year in the job. During this time I trialled and perfected the “By Negotiation Over” pricing strategy.
In 1994 along with Phil Trengrove and Maurice Tallott, I set up TLT Real Estate, a company that developed a specialist geographical approach to real estate sales.
In 2002 I set up on my own account Lomax Real Estate Ltd. Lomax Real Estate was the first company to introduce a 1% commission structure and pioneered the way for future Fair Fee Agencies.
It has always been a mystery to me why New Zealand agents charge around three times as much as agents in Australia, United Kingdom and the US. My passion is to do something about this by building an elite Fair Fee real estate team so Christchurch property owners can enjoy lower fees like our Australian neighbours.
